Community involvement
Our school values strong partnerships with our families and community. Parents and carers can get involved through our Parents and Citizens Association (P&C) or by volunteering at our school. Your time and support help make our school a better place for everyone.
Parents and Citizens Association (P&C)
Our P&C is a group of parents, carers and school community members. They assist with school planning, fundraising, events and volunteering. Our P&C works in partnership with our school to promote the interests of our school community.
The P&C Association meets at 6:30pm on the second Tuesday of each month and encourages the participation of parents in school activities.
At this school, the P&C is responsible for:
• Promoting the interest of our students and school
• Providing funds to purchase teaching aids and resource material
• Operating an OOSH; School Canteen
• Organising and conducting community and fundraising events such as the Eglinton Country Fair
• Providing a platform for discussions on educational matters, school policy and general matters relating to the school.
Joining the P&C is a great way to meet other families, get involved and contribute to our school's future. We would love to have you on board!

Eglinton Country Fair
The annual Eglinton Public School fund raising event is a fun, family day out, at Eglinton Oval. There are food stalls, rides, craft and produce stalls, along with lots of entertainment and displays.
The event raises around $30 000 each year for Eglinton Public School and has helped purchase resources for students, including Smart Boards, projection equipment, sound systems, books, maths resources, computer and playground equipment.
The Eglinton Country Fair Committee welcomes new members with open arms. The committee meet on average once a month and there are numerous ways you can be involved:
Become a committee member. You can take up a position such as sponsorship coordinator, secretary, treasurer or you can just join the committee and offer support and a helping hand where you like.
Offer to assist in a committee position. Maybe you are not ready to take on a position formally but like the sound of a certain job and are interested in finding out more. You are more than welcome to come to meetings and find out what positions involve before deciding and can assist a position with the view to volunteering in that position down the track.
Start a new position. If you think there is an area you could contribute but it does not fit into the current structure you are more than welcome to start a new position and get involved.
Become a stallholder. You can take on the coordination of a particular stall at the Eglinton Country Fair or even start up a new stall.
Have your say. Even if you do not want to sit on the committee, you are more than welcome to come to meetings and offer suggestions on how the event could be improved. You might like to put your hand up for one job, or maybe two, or three (okay, one is fine).
