Financial assistance

Financial contributions and assistance

There are some costs associated with going to school that you may find it helpful to plan and budget for.

These include:

  • uniforms

  • school books and equipment

  • excursions

  • co-curricular activities.

Voluntary school contributions

Like all NSW public schools, we can request contributions to enhance our educational and sporting programs including elective subjects. School contributions help provide additional educational resources for the benefit of students. Payment is voluntary.

For more information, visit the Voluntary School Contribution policy.

Subject Contribution

The subject contribution fee will partially cover the cost of digital learning materials used at school such as Mathletics, Typing Tournament, Reading Eggs, Reading Express and School Magazines. The school partially covers the cost of these platforms for every student to reduce the potential financial strain on families. Each student will be individually invoiced for the subject contribution.

Financial assistance

If you are unable to pay school contributions because of financial hardship, you may be eligible for assistance from the school.

Our principal will ensure no student or family suffers any discrimination or embarrassment over the inability to pay school contributions.

Education tax refund

The education tax refund lets you claim up to 50% of eligible education expenses. If you are eligible, you can get back up to $375 for each primary student and up to $750 for each secondary student. You can claim things like text books, stationery and even internet costs.

If you receive family tax benefit part A for a child at primary or secondary school, you will be eligible. For more information, call the tax office on 13 28 61.

Remember to keep receipts for all the expenses you claim.

Financial support is available to help eligible families with school-related costs.

Centrelink child care benefit

Families using outside of school hours care may be eligible to claim for this child care benefit to help with these costs.

School student transport scheme

The School Student Transport Scheme provides subsidised travel to and from school for eligible students on the train, bus, ferry and light rail services during the school term. It also offers subsidised travel to and from school in private vehicles in areas where there is no public transport available.

Assisted school travel program

The assisted school travel program helps eligible students with a disability to travel to and from school safely.
